Multimedia Arts, what really is Multimedia Arts? According to www.study.com , “Multimedia Artists focus on the innovation and technology associated with the study of new media. Where students are trained to design and create new media projects spanning print, web, animation and film. They also acquire a foundation in the visual arts, critical theory and computer science. Aspiring professionals also investigate the convergence of art and technology, as well as the emergence of new technologies in the field.”
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
When it comes to background skills and knowledge, there are 5 skills that can help a Multimedia Artist to develop characteristics and capacity to do tasks. As stated by www.truity.com , here are the following skills needed to be fit in Multimedia arts:
Artistic talent. Animators and artists should have artistic ability and a good understanding of color, texture, and light. However, they may be able to compensate for artistic shortcomings with better technical skills. In many art forms, Artistic talent is the ability of one person to paint, draw, sculpt, compose music, and other artforms (Visual, Musical, Movement, or Dance.). (Truity, 2020)
Communication skills. Multimedia artists and animators need to work as part of a complex team and respond well to criticism and feedback. SInce in the Multimedia Arts field, there will be collaboration with other people who will work with you in a team. There will be milestones that would include critiques to give feedback on the work, it is important to properly communicate reactions to those feedback. (Truity, 2020)
Computer skills. Multimedia Arts would mostly use computer programs and a variety of technologies to come up with most of their productions. It would ease the situation of working with these technologies if a person has a background experience on computer controls and codes. (Truity, 2020)
Creativity. In the field, it would most of the time require creative thinking in order to lead to a better success of the productions.And develop original ideas and make them come to life. (Truity, 2020)
Time-management skills. In the workplace, it would mostly require most of Multimedia Artist’s time. The hours required by most studio and game design companies are long, particularly when there are tight deadlines. Artists and animators need to be able manage their time when a deadline approaches. (Truity, 2020)
As for the background knowledge, multimedia artists need to know how to be able to scan, typeset, and produce film negatives and digital camera-ready art. A knowledge background in graphics and graphic tablets, development environment software and other technology would be expected. Having a knowledge in fine arts, communications and media and design are needed as well. (Truity, 2020)
CAREER PROGRESSION
When it comes to the common tools and equipment used by Multimedia artists, Illustrators and concept artists are using the following medias and tools in order to accomplish most of their tasks:

Digital cameras - Panoramic digital cameras
Digital Cameras are commonly used by Multimedia Artists when it comes to capturing photographs since it would be used in capturing real life objects and remodeling these items to be fit in Digital Artworks. To convert real objects to pixels, and then animated objects through modeling, using techniques such as optical scanning. (Computerhope, 2019)

Graphics tablets - Digital paper
According to www.design.tutsplus.com , “ A graphics tablet (also known as a pen tablet, drawing tablet or digitizer) is a hardware input device used primarily by digital artists, though many non-artists use them as well. Graphics tablets have a hard plastic, touch-sensitive drawing surface that transfers stylus or mouse movements to a monitor. The position of the stylus or mouse directly correlates to the position of the cursor on the monitor. It takes a while to get used to drawing on the tablet surface, but once you get over the learning curve, it's as natural as using a pen or pencil on paper.” This device is commonly used by Multimedia Artists to perform digital artworks, 2-3 DimensionalModelling and other uses. Personal computers
Multimedia Artists uses a Computer mostly for editing and uses computer codes and softwares to perform tasks that includes designing layout and as for video game designers, the use of computer mostly implies on mobile gaming platforms and social networking. As desktop computers also allow the art to be kept preserved digitally. (eHow, 2017)

Pressure stylus - Digital pens.
A Digital pen is an input device that is linked with the Graphic tablet, as it is used to draw and illustrate on the tablet screen. This device captures the handflow of the user and encodes the lines and strokes in the Graphic tablet. This device for Multimedia Artists, is a tool that can ease the process of drawing digitally. JOB OPPORTUNITIES
In Multimedia arts, there are different segments of jobs where the knowledge taken from the field will be applied, As a job opening opportunity for this career, these are the following common job opportunities for this field:

Print Media and Advertising-
In this job title, it is mostly focused on print media (Magazines, Newspapers, Billboards, flyers/booklets, and mail letters.) and advertisement, In which it is mostly centralized on marketing. Animation and Graphics Motion-
Animations and Graphic motions, that vary in 2 or 3 Dimensional perspectives are digital footage that creates illusion through motion and rotation accommodated by sounds, which is very much manipulated by the Graphic Artists. Web Design-
Web Designing often includes Graphic Design, Interface Design, Authoring, Uses of Softwares and Computer codes. This job title focuses on Computer Designing and internal programs within the unit itself. When it comes to the tasks of a Multimedia Artist, their common task is developing internal programs with particular functions that processes the computer.(C.I.I.T. 3D Modeling-
3 Dimensional Modeling uses mathematical computation and codes to provide dimensions in the artwork, through the help of programs that are specialized on 3 D Modeling, the job of a Multimedia Artist will be eased as the codes will be the main tool to create shapes and various textures. DUTIES AND JOB OPPORTUNITIES
Multimedia artists would mostly work using specific tools, since there are different and particular tasks that each Multimedia Artist does.
In the field, Multimedia Artists deals with several taskings as it is mostly related to computer based works and meetings with clients. Most of the task would include creating and producing 2 or 3 Dimensional Animations through the use of computer programs and various codes to be implied on the software used. (Concept Art Empire, 2019)
As a common encounter for many job titles, there will be times where there will be teams (The team will consist of a variety of Multimedia segments such as: Concept artist, Art director, Graphic designer, Illustrators, etc.) that are coordinated to come up with a project in production of movies, games, visual effects. As part of this team effort projects, it is expected to research projects that help produce creative and realistic designs. As the idea was formulated, “Storyboards” or “Story Flows” will be used to interpret the scenes in the animation. (JaProfile, 2020)
Thus came the part where Multimedia Artists would do Animations and visual interpretations according to the feedback from Art directors, Fellow Animators, Game Designers/Developers, or clients. Of course, this project would allow conversations and connections with the clients, other animators, games designers, directors, and other staff (which may include actors) to review deadlines and development timelines.
RELEVANCE TO SOCIETY
Generally, Art is a form of communication that allows people from different cultures and different times to communicate with each other through visuals, sounds and stories. Art paves way for social change and can give voice when it comes to political, social and personal matters. Any form of art can give an emotion that can make an individual enlightenment to a certain act. (Paint and Party, 2020)
Referring to the terminology, “Multimedia”, with its various forms such as: text, graphics, sound, animation, pictures, and videos. In our modern days, it is an important key for people to connect. As our world continues to sophisticate and develop, technology is a gift for faster works and easier ways to process and produce things. As it is connected to “Multimedia Arts”, reaching out artistry through technology will ease the distribution of messages to society. Multimedia arts, with its various forms, can help the society develop web designs and the entertainment industry in the goal of perceiving messages for the society to learn. (C.I.I.T.
