EXERCISE 05: TEXT IN MULTIMEDIA

 TEXT IN MULTIMEDIA

As part of design in general, Text is an important factor to consider to effectively deliver a message to its possible readers. In this activity, we ere tasked to incorporate various Text Designs on greeting cards of an specific occassion. I incorporated the readability, display, and design of the text to make sure that the results will give an impression of an articulate greeting card.

BIRTHDAY CARD

For the Birthday Card, I used the zig-zag tool on photoshot to get that whimsy and playful touch to the general design. I created various elements that gives more attention to the event purpose of the card. The color palette is a monochromatic spectrum of pink.

HALLOWEEN CARD

In this card, I am honestly really happy on how this turned out! A very simplistic yet playful touch of a landscape that features elements that fits the theme which is halloween. The placement wraps the main text to give highlight and more focal point of where the audience will lead their eyes to. I have chosen a warm color palette, to give that sense of autumn season. I used liquify effect to distort the text and give that eerie feel.

CHRISTMAS CARD

Similar to my approarch in the Halloween Card, I also featured a landscape design and other elements that gives an impression of Christmas. I used a wave effect from photoshop and it worked well with the flow of the text. Using clipboard tool, I changed the color to light red and a bit darker shape of red. To give that 3  Dimensional look, I added a layer on the back to define the shape of the text. The color palette I used here are mostly cold shaped of each color, instead of using yellowish green, I used shade of green closer to blue to be more fiting to the theme.

VALENTINES CARD

In this Valentines Greeting Card, I used warm shades of pink and red to incorporate the affectionate feeling of the valentines Day. For the background words (The one with the word "LOVE"), I used the ripple effect to get that flowy look and reduced the opacity to not be the main highlight of the card. For the main text, I used a wave effect and also added a background layer to give that 3 Dimensional look. The hearts around the text have are an ambience to give more highlight leading the viewer's eyes to the main text.

CONGRATULATIONS CARD

For the Congratulatory Card, I used complementary colors being shades of Violets and Cold Green. In order to create this effect in the text, I used the Vanishing Point Tool in Photoshop that allows the users to adjust the position of the text on a given perspective. I was not really sure what specific event is being pertained to in this card, but I assumed it is for Graduation which is why I used elements such as the Toga, Certificate, and the Medal. To fill in the other portions, I used leaves to feel more organic and free.
